Flynn Ryan
I graduated from Penn State’s Smeal College of Business in May 2025 with a degree in Finance. Like most college students, I wasn’t completely sure what I wanted to do after graduation. One conversation I had was with Chip, who helped me see how my interest in finance and desire to help people could come together in the financial advisory space. Chip introduced me to the fee-only fiduciary model: advisors who are required by law to put clients first. It was exactly the kind of work I wanted to be a part of.
Since joining Addis Hill, I’ve focused on learning financial advisory and planning from the ground up, while helping strengthen the experience we offer clients along the way. I’ve passed my Series 65 exam and look forward to working towards my CFP certification. Every day here is a chance to learn from a team that practices that client-first philosophy.
One thing I’ve come to realize from my time here is that money is rarely just about the numbers. While the numbers are important the emotional side is what drives your decisions. Understanding someone’s goals, values, and concerns is what gives the numbers context, and that’s what makes financial planning meaningful.
I grew up in Wayne, PA and have an older brother and younger sister. I love to play golf with my brother and father as much as possible, but when it’s too cold to golf, I love to go snowboarding.
