How it all started.
Chip Addis began his career in the late-eighties, as a producer for a major life insurance company. Back then, nobody had imagined what it meant to be a fiduciary advisor. But, by the mid-nineties, the industry models started changing dramatically. It was then that Chip realized there was a better way to do business, and he began crafting what the next phase of his career would look like.
As fee-only planning was getting off the ground, Chip saw the opportunity to provide a different model of service for his clients. Chip teamed up with Justin Hill in 2000, giving the new business the wide range of expertise it needed to be successful. With Justin overseeing operations and Chip leading the sales and planning vision, Addis Hill was officially founded.

Kent R. Addis, Jr. “Chip”
I worked for Pennsylvania Financial Group, an agency of the former Provident Mutual organization from 1989 until 2000 when Addis Hill was conceived. During that time I learned the valuable lesson of solving for client needs, I also became uncomfortable with conflicts of interest. I knew there was a better way to do business and soon found NAPFA which proved to be invaluable in shaping the culture of the new firm, Addis Hill.
At Addis Hill, I aim to consistently listen and use common sense to solve the puzzle that clients bring upon meeting for the first time. I love working with the Addis Hill team because of their high level of integrity and the impact they make on clients’ lives. I also enjoy the authenticity of the company, the use of new technologies, and an overall growth mindset.
When I'm not in the office
I have been happily married to my wife Sue for 32 years. We share three children: Drew (25) who lives in Phoenix, AZ, Kyle (23) a Marine Officer who resides in Quantico, VA, and Jenny (19) a sophomore at Penn State. We have a home on the Chesapeake Bay where my family enjoys spending time on the water with family and friends. I love Penn State football, home renovation projects, collecting art, landscaping, and running around in my two classic cars and motorcycle. I am a small town boy at heart having grown up in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State.

Justin J. Hill
I co-founded Addis Hill with Chip in 2000 and currently serve as head of business operations and compliance for the company. I held roles with MCI, Aetna, and Enterprise after graduating from the University of South Carolina. My experience in sales, business administration, and risk management make me an ideal fit for running the business operations of Addis Hill.
At Addis Hill, I primarily manage the tools necessary for the team to efficiently perform their duties and responsibilities. I enjoy overseeing the technology platforms that enhance the way business runs daily in the digital age. The challenge to keep reinventing business practices is one of my favorite aspects running Addis Hill.
When I'm not in the office
I married my wife Erin 26 years ago. We have two children: Mason (20) a student at Ole Miss and Sophia (18) a senior in high school who will soon attend the U.S. Naval Academy. We reside in St. Davids, PA. I have been an avid runner for more than 45 years and have participated in numerous races from local 5k’s to the Boston Marathon. I also enjoy reading nonfiction, vacationing with my family, and frequenting my childhood town of Madison, Connecticut.

Kelly Bashore
I joined Addis Hill in 2005, and am focused on our clients’ investment planning needs. I earned my BA in Finance from Shippensburg University and hold a Series 65 License. My previous experience includes serving as a regional accountant for USA Today and a financial analyst for Meridian Bank.
At Addis Hill, I oversee investment allocation, tax location management, and rebalancing for client portfolios. I really enjoy the challenge of taking a complex situation and making it more efficient. I manage investment portfolios and asset allocations, implement various financial processes, and develop investment models customized around clients financial plans. I love the casual yet professional environment of Addis Hill that allows my the freedom to pursue my professional interests and strengths.
When I'm not in the office
I have been happily married to husband Dave for 33 years. I have two children, Jake and Hannah, as well as two grandsons, Chase and Jackson. I was born and raised in Parkesburg, where I still reside. I enjoy spending time with my grandsons and cooking and experimenting with food and wine.
Gail Dewey
I joined Addis Hill in 2012 and am currently serving as the Client Services Administrator. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from West Virginia University, and I have prior experience working with firms in Accounting and 401k Administration roles.
I am responsible for providing support to both clients and my colleagues at Addis Hill. My responsibilities include scheduling meetings, preparing reports and documents, processing requests, and ensuring a positive experience for all. I strive to make a positive impact by treating clients like family and going above and beyond to help in any way I can. I appreciate the culture at Addis Hill along with working with such a great group of people who look out for the best interest of our clients.
When I'm not in the office
l live in the western suburbs of Philadelphia and have two wonderful sons, Chris and Rob, who both live and work in center city, Philadelphia. I also have a great rescue dog Leo. In my free time, I enjoy golfing, practicing yoga, and spending time with my family and friends.
Bill Mayer
I joined the Addis Hill team in 2016 and currently serve as a Financial Planner. I began my career with a local savings and loan association as a mortgage processor in 1977 and rose to CEO in 1981. I have also served as VP for a national commercial mortgage company representing insurance companies and pension funds. I became a Certified Financial Planner in 1999 and ran my own practice until joining Addis Hill.
At Addis Hill, I develop comprehensive reviews of each client’s current situation and craft financial strategies to make things better. I enjoy being part of the caring team at Addis Hill where I can be focused more closely on the client’s needs and helping them meet their goals.
When I'm not in the office
I reside in Media PA with my wife Karen. We share two children, Jonathan and David and have two grandchildren, Vera and Valon. I am an avid outdoorsman and enjoy spending time camping and fishing. I also take pride in my years of dedication to the Boy Scouts of America, sharing my knowledge and passion for the great outdoors with future generations. In addition, I am very active in my church.

Wayne’s character and warmth are everywhere, from the beautiful neighborhoods to the charming North Wayne Avenue that boasts restaurants and shops, to the picturesque scenery of Chanticleer Garden, it’s a wonderful place to call home.
Our office is also conveniently located near the Wayne train station and highways, making travel to and from a snap.
