For those of you who are invested in stocks, to varying degrees we hope you have enjoying the gains as much as we have recently. The S&P 500 is up a whopping 20% over the past six months! The news headlines seem to be all good – positive job growth, a boom in housing, and new stock market records reached eighteen out of the last nineteen days. It all feels so good compared to where we were just four short years ago – Remember March, 2009? Everyone was racing for the exits!
But, through the euphoria, let’s not forget that good “feelings” can sometimes be fleeting. The markets can turn in an instant. We certainly don’t wish for this to happen, but, it’s normal – it’s just the ways it goes. The tide always comes in and goes out, but can really vary depending on the alignment with the moon.
So, enjoy all the water, but, just be prepared for the low tide. It’s not a matter of “if” but “when”!
